Bring a photo camera, cash, headwear for women, clothing or a cover-up to cover shoulders and knees for both men and women, swimwear, towels, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a good mood

Do we visit a local school?

When there is an opportunity to do so, the excursions stops by a local, rural school. We can never guarantee this stop as it depends on holidays and government regulations on public school visits by excursions.

Is there a jungle in Punta Cana?

The immediate area of Punta Cana/Bavaro has a generally drier climate. Great for vacationers because less rain! Our Safari tour heads north of Punta Cana to the Oriental Mountains range. The elevated terrain and presence of numerous rivers create a more humid and lush climate. Although the Dominican Republic has few rainforests, the country boasts numerous humid forests which is one step below a rainforest in annual rain totals.

Is there wildlife in Punta Cana?

Although the Dominican Republic is void of large land mammals (as many islands are) the country is full of native and tropical fauna. Some species include iguanas, tropical birds like the Hispaniolan green parrot, numerous crustaceans, sea turtles, manatees, and even small land mammals like the elusive wild boar, hutia, and solenodon.
